The BDDC Statement of Purpose
The Blanchester Downtown Development Committee was organized in 2005 for the purpose of revitalizing the Downtown Shopping Area of Blanchester, Ohio. The area encompasses six blocks beginning at Church Street on the West, to Grove Street on the East, and at Center St on the North and extending to Cherry St on the South and containing all the area within.
In November 2005, the committee contracted with Heritage, Ohio to conduct a Dart Assessment of the area. With the results in hand, the committee is presently in the process of conducting a number of surveys designed to gain input from merchants, consumers, property owners and residents relative to the design, economics and image the community would like to project.
Our stated goal is to make Blanchester a destination, rather than a drive-through. With fifty-four members aboard and several very active committees functioning, the organization is actively pursuing its goal.
